Tier 3 (Hemp and cannabis): The full 11 cannabinoid profile: Tier 2 PLUS CBDv, CBGa, CBG, THCv, Delta-8 THC, and CBC

For cannabis, the State of Colorado requires a cannabinoid profile that determines the level of concentration of CBDa, CBD, CBN, Delta-9 THC, and THCa.

Minimum testing for hemp is Total THC.

Test batches submitted for potency must be from the same strain or production batch. Please do not mix strains or production batches.

Potency Testing

NEW for Retail and Medical Marijuana Potency Testing

Starting Jan 1, 2022, per MED rules and regulations, marijuana potency calculations will include D-8 THC,

D-10 THC and Exo-THC in addition to THC and

87.7% THCa.

How is Total THC calculated?

Total THC is the sum of Delta-9 THC (aka THC) and THCa. But there is a twist on this formula.

Simply put, it takes heat, greater than 220 degrees Fahrenheit, to convert THCa into THC.

Industry standards have shown that after heating to 220 deg F, 87.7% of THCa converts to THC.

So Total THC is calculated by the formula:

Total THC = THC + (.877 x THCa)

Total CBD is calculated the same way:

Total CBD = CBD + (.877 x CBDa)

So now you know the secret. Don't let all those lab numbers confuse you.
